Drop-in Dot Day Community Art Project

0Comments

What can you create with just a dot? Celebrate your creativity by joining us in the Youth Department for art, crafts, activities, and giveaways (while supplies last). Together you can create an individual piece of art and a collaborative art project that encourages creativity by simply starting with a dot. Adults, children, and families are welcome to drop-in. No art experience is necessary- just a desire to express yourself creatively.

The event is based on Peter Reynolds’ book “The Dot,” the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark.” What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, inspiring countless children and adults around the globe. The book may be placed on hold through the Library’s catalog or viewed online through Tumblebooks, an online database of animated books available on the Kids section of our website. To view the book through Tumblebooks, you will need a Keene Public Library card.

Event Type(s): Activities and Crafts
