Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on November 4.

Keene, NH — On the evening of Thursday November 18th from 6:30 to 8:00pm, the Monadnock Sustainability Hub and the Alliance for Youth Climate Leadership will be hosting the Monadnock Sustainability Roundtable—a virtual event at which attendees will learn about various sustainability projects and opportunities that are happening in the Monadnock region. It is open to all members of the public and will be held virtually via Zoom.

The Roundtable will feature speakers from local organizations and community groups working on an array of sustainability projects: from clean energy and climate change solutions, to agriculture, to community education about the climate crisis. This includes community-driven initiatives like Peterborough’s journey to committing to 100% Renewable Energy and a local composting business’s mission to bring sustainable waste management to the Keene community.

In addition to hearing stories of local climate action, attendees will get the chance to connect with fellow Monadnock residents and discuss the climate initiatives taking place in their own community.  The aim of this public event is to gather climate advocates, students, municipal leaders, and interested community members in hopes to foster connections, inspire attendees, and ignite collaboration on local climate action initiatives.

This event is the first collaboration between the Monadnock Sustainability Hub and the Alliance for Youth Climate Leadership. The two climate-focused organizations individually host regular informational webinars and events to help educate the Monadnock community about the climate crisis. People can register for the Monadnock Sustainability Roundtable here or email info@monadnocksustainabilityhub.org for more information.
