Keene Police Department Burglary Investigation

Burglary

Keene Police Department Burglary issued the following announcement on July 21.

PRESS RELEASE

Burglary Investigation

On the morning of July 20, 2021, Keene Police responded to a reported burglary at D’Angelo’s on West Street. There was obvious forced entry made into the business. It was discovered the cash register and a sum of money was taken from the business. While processing this scene, a citizen called to report that Dark Mark Tattoo appeared to have been burglarized and a sum of money was taken from the business.  The modus operandi appeared to be the same as the D’Angelo’s investigation.

While canvasing the area, detectives spoke to a local business. They explained they received a number of bills which appear to have been drawn on. The employees believed this was odd and expressed their suspicions to the detectives. These bills were linked to Dark Mark Tattoo and from this information a suspect was developed, and identified as 53-year-old GERARD J. CRIBBIE of Gardner, Massachusetts.

It was learned that Cribbie was staying at the Keene Inn and he was taken into custody without incident on the felony charge of Burglary, RSA 635:1.

A search warrant was granted for the hotel room Cribbie was staying in.  From this search warrant, evidence was collected linking him to the D’Angelo’s burglary as well as a residential burglary that took place on July 14, 2021.

Cribbie was transported to Cheshire County Department of Corrections to await arraignment on these charges in Cheshire County Superior Court on July 21, 2021.

Although an arrest has been made, the case remains under investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Investigations. Anyone who has further information is encouraged to contact Detective Lippincott or Detective LaMears of the Keene Police Department at 603-357-9820.
