Town of Swanzey issued the following announcement on October 25.

The Town of Swanzey has engaged B.U.R. Construction, LLC from Newport, N.H. to serve as the general contractor for this project to reconstruct the following streets: South Winchester Street, West Street (east of Rt. 10) and Swanzey Street. Final paving, sidewalk construction and all other necessary work will be in the spring of 2022. Motorists should expect delays during working hours. The upcoming expected work schedule is as follows:

Wednesday October 27th – Friday November 5th

• Utility Structure Raising including adjusting sewer manholes on South Winchester and West Streets
• Fine grading & base paving of driveway aprons

Monday November 8th – Friday November 12th

• General clean up on South Winchester, West, & Swanzey Streets to prepare site for winter

This project is funded by the following sources:

• The last portion of $3 million bond for road reconstruction projects approved by voters at the 2019 Town Meeting
• The Road Reconstruction Expendable Trust Fund as appropriated to annually by the voters
• The Municipal Transportation Capital Reserve Fund funded by $5 added to each motor vehicle registration
• Federal funds from a $500,000 Grant under Northern Borders Regional Commission (35% Grant Funds; 65% Local Funds)
• The West Swanzey Sidewalk Committee Fund
• A grant from the Monadnock Alliance for Sustainable Transportation
