Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

For centuries, some of the world’s most celebrated poets have focused their work on the depth and mystery of the natural world. In this three-part seminar with Matthew Myer Boulton, we will explore nature poetry classics from Blake to Oliver, Yeats to Levertov, Stevens to Kenyon – as well as some of the ways such poetry can transform our experiences of nature. Following the work of Robert Macfarlane, we’ll investigate how part of the “nature” of poetry is to help deepen our engagement with the nature outside our doors. Great poets not only open our eyes to see – they give us new eyes to see with!

This class will meet Thursdays, Dec 2, 9, and 16, from 1 to 2 p.m. via Zoom.

Cost: $30 for Harris Center supporters / $50 for all others

Instructor: Matthew Myer Boulton is a former faculty member at Harvard Divinity School, and a writer and filmmaker living in Keene.

Space is limited, and registration is required. Please register via this online form; we will follow up with a call or email to collect payment. For other questions or more information, contact Miles Stahmann at (603) 525-3394 or via email.
