Cheshire Medical Center issued the following announcement on February 16.
Daily COVID-19 case numbers and hospitalizations for New Hampshire continued their rapid decline in the last week. Jose Mercado, MD, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health COVID-19 Response Leader, told the Granite State News Collaborative that the system is cautiously starting to think about how its strategy for care might change in the coming months, given the change in direction for the pandemic.
"We are starting to have discussions around how to transition into an endemic state this week and consider how similar and/or different the approach should be for COVID-19 when compared to other respiratory viruses," Dr. Mercado said.
