Cheshire Medical Center: Presidents Service Excellence Award (PSEA)

8

Cheshire Medical Center issued the following announcement on March 23.

Congratulations to Stephen Pomponio, power plant technician, who has been honored with a Presidents Service Excellence Award (PSEA) for extraordinary service characterized by compassion, responsiveness to the needs of others, and a positive team-oriented attitude.

WHAT HIS PEERS SAY:

“Stephen has a can-do attitude and is always ready to lend a hand with a huge smile on his face—no matter what the call is.”

“Stephen has the knowledge to make snap decisions, staying calm when others aren’t around to help, and is very kind. He has always stepped up to help with a quick response. Recently, I reached out to see if he had any Velcro and double-sided tape to fix something. Steve said, “We don’t have that in the power plant, but let me look around and see what I can find."

Twenty minutes later he brought what we needed and even offered to stay and help. This was a very unimportant task in the realm of his responsibilities, since he maintains the boilers, chillers, and tackles many more projects such as emergent blocked sinks, toilets, ceiling leaks, etc. However, he lent a helping hand when we were in need."

"At the end of each shift, he goes home and takes care of his two small children during the day and is studying to become a licensed electrician! Steve truly deserves to be recognized as one of our unsung heroes who work third shift. He is a true gem and a valuable employee to Cheshire Medical Center.”
