Electric Earth Concerts presents “The Joy of Sextets” on Wednesday, August 10 at 7 pm, at the First Church in Jaffrey Center. Jewish, Hungarian, and American folk influences pervade this wide-ranging program that features harp, clarinet, flute, strings, and piano in Ravel’s voluptuous Introduction and Allegro, Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes for Clarinet, String Quartet and Piano, William Grant Still’s Folk Suite No. 2 for Flute, Clarinet, Cello and Harp, and the Piano Quartet in G minor, Op. 25 of Brahms. In partnership with the Sebago-Long Lake Festival & musicians. Our performers are Laura Gilbert, flute, Benjamin Fingland, clarinet, Jennifer Elowitch, violin, Amy Schroeder, violin, Jonathan Bagg, viola, Felix Umansky, cello, Stacey Shames, harp, and Mihae Lee, piano. Admission is $30 and is payable online at www.electricearthconcerts.org or via cash or check at the door. Middle and high school students may attend for free. Weather permitting, we offer the option of bringing a chair and listening outside via our excellent sound system, for free.
