MSH/FPU Drive Electric Expo

Benefits of Driving Electric Vehicles Celebrated at

Drive Electric Event

Hosted by Franklin Pierce University, Rindge NH

Saturday, September 24th, 12-4 pm

Rindge, NH – Plug-in electric vehicle drivers, supporters, and interested local residents are invited to attend the Drive Electric Event on Saturday, September 24th, 12-4pm, hosted by Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH. Sponsored by the Monadnock Sustainability Hub and the University’s Institute for Climate Action, the event will showcase the clean-air benefits, cost-savings, and driving enjoyment offered by electric vehicles.

Electric vehicle owners will be on hand to answer questions and offer rides and test drives. This event is free and open to the public.

This event is one of hundreds of Drive E events across the country, as part of National Drive Electric Vehicle week, where electric vehicle owners, government and community leaders are holding electric car parades, “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, ride-and-drives, and other public events to celebrate electric vehicles. It also coincides with the recent approval of expanded tax credits for the purchase of new and used EVs.

Catherine Koning, Professor of Environmental Science and Coordinator of the Institute for Climate Action at FPU, noted that the University, which has recently installed an EV charging station open to the public, “is proud to be celebrating National Drive Electric Week and to be partnering with MSH to provide students and local residents a hands-on experience of the road transportation of the future.”

For its 5th year of Drive E events, the Monadnock Sustainability Hub has also coordinated with organizations such as Plug In America, the Sierra Club, and the Electric Auto Association, to put on this event. “MSH has held at least one Drive E event a year in the Monadnock region since 2018, with virtual events including producing a short video during the pandemic. This will be our 3rd Drive E event this year, a new high for us.” reports John Kondos, MSH board member and EV owner, adding, “May the torque be with you.”
