Town of Swanzey: Swanzey Posts Town Roads With 6 Ton Weight Limit

Town of Swanzey issued the following announcement on March 30.

Effective April 1st the weight restrictions on the paved roads will be removed.  The dirt roads will remain restricted to 6 tons until further notice.

Swanzey Posts Town Roads with 6 Ton Weight Limit

In accordance with NH RSA 231:191, effective March 2, 2022, the Town of Swanzey will be restricting the weight limit to 6 tons on all roads until further notice. The following are exempt from the weight limit: emergency vehicles, home fuel delivery trucks, government owned vehicles, school buses, and residents whose only access to their residence or place of business is across a posted road without a load.  

In the event of special circumstances, a Posted Highway Use Permit to allow a truck to travel on posted roads on a limited basis defined on the permit may be requested from the Director of Public Works, Joe DiRusso (603-352-7116).
